The Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City (WIN for KC), a program under the umbrella of the Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation, was established in 1994 and is a national leader in empowering girls and women through sports and fitness. WIN is a volunteer, membership‐driven organization. WIN for KC exists because its volunteers and contributors believe in the physical and emotional well‐being of girls and women through a connection in sports and fitness – either as a participant or spectator. Our events provide opportunities for participation such as CAMP WIN and the WIN for KC Women's Triathlon. In addition, WIN promotes and supports women’s sporting events such as KU and UMKC women’s athletics, the Big 12 and MIAA Conference Women’s Basketball Championships, and other national women’s events held in Kansas City. With its small staff of two, and fast-growing volunteer base, WIN for KC has become one of the largest and most well-respected initiatives of its kind in the United States, engaging thousands of girls and women in sports and fitness activity and advocacy. It remains one of the largest community action programs affiliated with the Women's Sports Foundation.
